Crowdfunding

What's Crowdfunding??

" Crowd funding (sometimes called crowd financing, crowd sourced capital, or street performer protocol) describes the collective cooperation, attention and trust by people who network and pool their money and other resources together, usually via the Internet, to support efforts initiated by other people or organizations. Crowd funding occurs for any variety of purposes,[1] from disaster relief to citizen journalism to artists seeking support from fans, to political campaigns, to funding a startup company or small business[2] or creating free software.   Emilio Vigara is a professional Video Maker originally from Spain, living and studying in Sydney. Apart from studying, he's using his free time to show his talent and experience as a video maker being part of many projects for movies and TV shows.   Malvin Busono is a Graphic Designer venturing out into photography. Aussie with Indonesian background, Malvin agreed to cover our "Day at the park" while we were making some noise for the video. It was a Saturday morning of fun resulting in great photos for our campaign.   This is Erik Le, "working hard" in one of our brainstorming sessions.  From Vietnam Erik came to study Design at University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and helped to create many of the "icon" illustrations used in Neighbourland. The brainstorming sessions will continue as we work together to create more "countries" for the range.

Bad Lamps
Sambalouco

The project was just an idea in my head when I found the song "Never know the difference" by a new band called Bad Lamps. I contacted the band from Los Angeles, California to talk about the project and to ask if I could use the song on the video campaign for Neighbourland. They accepted instantly. Now, they are working hard to launch their first LP. I hope the Totem1 supporters enjoy the song as well and you can find "Never Know the Difference" and 3 more of their songs available to purchase on their website.

As Sambalouco group leader Geoff says "Louco means crazy in Portuguese and Samba, means Samba". lol.
Sambalouco is a perfect example of the spirit of these t-shirts, a Brazilian drumming group made up of people from all over the world. I would never have expected to learn about an element of my own culture over the other side of the world, but in Australia it seems anything is possible (or should I say PoZible?? lol).
